Getting older and slowing down
Thinksight has been going for a year, and it is time to tweak the schedule slightly
Another small milestone went by unnoticed.
Thinksight just completed a year of sending out a weekly newsletter. The first one went out on March 1, 2021.
Technology, Covid, and situations in Hong Kong and China were regularly touched on, and there were some wonderful contributions from some fellow journalists who I can't thank enough.
After a year, I realize doing this every week means other projects on hand are getting less attention. So, to get those also going, I need to go slow with Thinksight.
I will, from now on, post newsletters only when there is something that I think has to be told or passed on from other newsletters, anything worthy of a read. Maybe, one or two a month.
Like I said when launching Thinksight, the idea was to create a platform that would function like a weekend visit to a pub or teashop and chance meeting someone with an interesting tale.
Whether or not Thinksight has served that purpose is for you to determine and, also, for you to help it meet that purpose.
I will be glad if some of you on the mailing list – who, I know, are eminent journalists – will consider pitching their thoughts on any issue to keep the original idea of making this a platform people can turn to for an interesting weekend read and reflection.
As this is not a paying venture, I understand why it may not be an attractive option, especially when writing and editing are what we do for a living.
But hey, I tried to tempt you.
Meanwhile, stay safe.
